Children with Medical Handicaps is a program that provides a Public Health Nurse who coordinates services for families of children with special healthcare needs. CMH helps families pay for the medical care their children need that is not covered by insurance or Medicaid.
Services may include
Needed testing, x-rays, lab work, physician visits, prescriptions, medical equipment and supplies, and public health nurse services
The program is for residents of Ohio age birth – 21 years old and is under the care of a CMH approved medical provider for an eligible chronic medical condition. Examples of eligible medical conditions include but are not limited to hemophilia and other bleeding disorders, hearing loss, diabetes, chronic lung disease, cerebral palsy, scoliosis, epilepsy, and cystic fibrosis.
